This may transmit viruses if the particles are trapped indoors with poor ventilation in recycled air – such as with most commercial HVAC systems in large buildings.
Surface of the cooling coil is an excellent growth medium for biofilm of microorganisms mold, pathogens and other contaminants, owing to the biofilm that collects on it. Pathogens and airborne contaminants are then distributed throughout the HVAC system.

New contaminants cannot begin to grow whilst the UV-C tubes are in operation.
Contaminants which are killed by the UV-C energy are ‘washed away’ by the condensate water.
